WHAT IS
FILM FLEX?
Film Flex is a monthly short film challenge produced by Creative Veins Performing Arts. Each round, you'll learn a new filmmaking technique, team up with fellow creatives to make a short film, and come back to screen it together.
Challenges start simple and build each month, so your skills grow with every film.

04 HOW WE MAKE FILMS
WHAT FILM FLEX
IS (AND ISN'T)
Film Flex is a welcoming place to learn filmmaking, try new things and build real skills, with supportive feedback along the way. It's not a competition or film festival, and there are no awards. The reward is in the doing.
Everyone rotates roles. Actors try crew jobs, crew members step in front of the camera, and everyone pitches in to build their skills side by side.
Team films only. Every film is made by its Film Flex team, with no outside help. That's how everyone learns by doing.
05 GOOD TO KNOW
FAQ
Do I need filmmaking experience?
Nope! Film Flex is made for total beginners and anyone who wants to learn filmmaking and build their skills from the ground up.
Do I need my own equipment?
Not at all. We'll help you get creative with the resources you already have, including the phone in your pocket.
Can I bring my own team?
Film Flex teams are made up of the Film Flexers who attend each event, not outside friends or crew. We'll help everyone team up at the event, so we all learn and take on each challenge together.
Do I get feedback on my film?
Only if you want it. Just check the box when you submit, and we'll share feedback during the screening.
Who can join?
Right now, Film Flex is invitation-only while we iron out the format and grow at the right pace. It's open to adults 18+. Get on the list, and you'll be the first to know when Film Flex opens to all.
